Are you true?

King PenguinsDown deep, we all want to be loved. Perhaps it would help if we truly understood what real love was. Love always gives to, never takes from. When both parties are giving love to each other the relationship grows into a deeper abiding love…which is the kind of love ‘til death do we part’ love.
Sometimes we choose to love someone and find out they don’t love us in that way; at least not at the level of real abiding love. So then comes that point in time––a decision has to be made. Are you willing to lose yourself by staying in a relationship that is neither healthy for you nor feeding you with the love you deserve?
We all have to come to grips at some point in our lives, whether in high school, college or later on what cost we are prepared to pay to be loved. What we need to remember is we don’t need to be loved at the cost of ourselves. The single relationship that is truly central and crucial in a life is the relationship to self. Of all the people, we will know in a lifetime, it is ourselves we are always with.
It is important to be true to self, only then are we free to love someone else.
