What is Courage? Do I have it?

couragethCourage according to the dictionary is defined as: mental or moral strength to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty.

We see courage when someone starts a new venture in the business world. It takes courage to step out on your own and create a business from scratch. Yet it takes courage to go to work each day and report to a boss and do your best for that company.

We see courage when someone perseveres through hardships, challenges, and overcomes obstacles.

We see courage in our men and women who are fighting everyday in a world that is different from ours in so many respects. They are facing danger everyday.

We see courage in the faces of anyone who has to meet and overcome their fears.

Even when we have difficulties in life, we have to have courage to meet them, work through them step by step and day by day.

Winston Churchill said, “Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.”Winston Churchill

So then let us strive to muster the  courage to stand up and speak when it is necessary. At the same time, use every strength of courage we have to sit down and listen.
