Those are just about the truest words I’ve ever heard spoken. Too many times we focus on what we don’t have. Know what that does for you? It puts you into terrible ditches. Mentally you can become so unhappy you go down into that pit of depression and wind up in a hole that is hard to get out of. Physically you cause your body to secrete dangerous chemicals into your body and mind. Financially, you have built a brick wall that success can’t get over to get to you and you can’t get over to the successful side. In other words, you have built a prison for yourself.
If we want to have a prosperous life in every way, then we need to practice everyday being thankful for what we have.
There is a scripture that says, “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118:24) I’ve put into practice saying this every morning when I get up. It puts me in a thankful place immediately. Besides, I always feel better when I am thankful. I hope this Thanksgiving season, you are able to be thankful too.
