Blocks Upon Blocks

bulding blocks Looking at these blocks brought to mind our congress. Not together…but separate…their own agendas. What people fail to realize is that congress has always had its differences along with personal agendas. People who are in congress are like children–you’ve seen those kids, the ones playing in the sand boxes, arguing over which toy is theres. We’ve watched kids argue with each other, put the blame on others, be self-centered…not caring about anyone else but themselves. The ‘what’s in it for me’.

I don’t like talking politics. But I truly had to voice a concern I’ve had for a long time-especially in light of this ‘government slowdown’.

The people in congress could not behave this way if they were working in a company-a business. If they did, the companies would go under. A company could not function with its leaders bringing about a shutdown of the company until one or the other side hollered “Uncle”. The company would go under and lose its customer share.

So why do grown men and women behave in this manner? Because they have only their interest in the forefront of their minds. They couldn’t possibly be thinking about what is good for the country, about collaborating on the answers to the problems. Their agenda consists of tearing each party down. They are still in a childish fit of behavior and have not grown up and matured to be in the positions they were elected to fill. When political parties are more interested in spending their time making the other side look bad than doing the right things for our country and its people, nothing will be accomplished to help the situations, it will only tear down.

Don’t you think it is time for congress to put the people they are supposed to serve, the ones who elected them. first and let go of their hidden agendas?

Don’t you think it is time for them to consider you can’t take someones livelihood away and leave them stranded trying to survive while you play in your sandbox.

Remember, they aren’t giving up their salaries, their jobs, during this shutdown. So there is little incentive for them to work this out, is there? I hope people in our country will write and express to every member of congress it’s time for them to put away their childish behavior and come together, forget party-lines, and work out answers that are good for the people. After all we did elect them. So technically they work for us.
