Why and How

baby Wyatt I can’t imagine anyone not loving a baby. They are so precious and such a wonderful gift from God. We all know abuse isn’t knew, it has been going on down through the ages. Let’s face it, there is evil in the world. Even knowing that, I still ask the question “Why would anyone hurt a baby?”. But I don’t get an answer, not really.

I don’t remember hearing many stories, if any, when I was growing up about a baby being abused. There must have been some who were. Perhaps we hear more of it now because of the media. Yet, I can’t help but wonder how could this be happening more. Let’s face it, it is happening more– more than 50 years ago, more than 40, 30 or 20 years ago. So that brings us back to Why and How.

Has our society become so sick that we’ve become immune to this kind of behavior? When you hear a baby has been abused or worse, killed, are you not grief stricken? How do we stop this? Our job is to protect children.

  1. Thanks Jean for your comment. This is definitely an issue everyone should be concerned about and working toward a solution.

  2. I hate to say it, but child abuse is rampant now and probably was when you were a child. It is a secret carefully kept by the family and especially the child who wrongly believes it was his or her own fault. Most children don’t die, but some do. Others just die inside.
