Happy Labor Day

labor day . I guess anyday is a happy day when it is a holiday and we are off to relax and play, right? I wonder how many people know exactly what Labor Day is. Here, is the meaning of Labor Day, just in case you were wondering what you are suppose to be celebrating: Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country. This is the definition from the Department of Labor.

Just so you know, the Department of Labor celebrates 100 years. Yes, they turned 100! March 2013 marked the Department of Labor’s first 100 years of service. They launched a year’s worth of educational events outlining the Department’s history. When you see their centennial icon, expect to find out some tidbit of history, or about an event or activity celebrating their first century of service to America’s workers.

Now you know, this is what we are celebrating.
