Do you use yours?

Galileo_Galilei%2C_1636Galileo Galilei (1564-1642) an Italian Physicist, mathematician, astronomer and philosopher  said, “I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forego their use.”

Galileo has been called the father of modern observational astronomy, the father of modern physics, the father of science and Modern Science. He played a major role in the scientific revolution in history. One of his inventions was the telescope.

If back in that era, he wondered why sense, reason and intellect wasn’t used, what would he say about today? If he came to visit he would be impressed to see our modern technologies. Planes, Jets, helicopters, medicines that cure, prosthetics to replace limbs and eyes. Visits to outer space, spaceships, skyscrapers, iPads, iPhones, televisions, movies, radios…the list goes on. All the things that are available to us today that weren’t even thought of back then.He would find so many things that had changed and moved civilization forward– certainly beyond his dreams.

Yet I wonder would he find, that we still have problems using our sense, reason and intellect?
