That question gets asked a lot. But I don’t believe the world has gone mad. But I definitely believe there are some mad people in the world.
Each evening when I sit down to listen to the news, I already know what they are going to have on there. Somebody robbed a store, somebody was killed in a neighborhood where crime is prevalent, some child was murdered because of a drive by, some kid was expelled because he brought a gun to school. Let’s not forget the international news. Some idiot with an ego the size of the earth is threatening the United States as well as other countries. Other countries have over spent and now are scrambling for money–to keep their heads above water. Soldiers, both ours and those from other countries have been blown up. Then there is the national news where a company CEO has embezzled billions of dollars and now there isn’t enough money to help the people when they retire, banks won’t lend, people are squatting in houses they don’t own all because they don’t recognize our governments authority.
Well, that’s about it for the news at 6:00 pm. Won’t be much different at 10:00 pm.
Are there any answers for this behavior? Do people really hate people? Do people have no respect for themselves or others. Do people not care about others? Do people really won’t to kill each other? I’ve heard on the news for years all the excuses doctors give for such behavior. But you know what? I don’t buy those excuses.
People who do this, for the most part know exactly what they are doing. Many people have problems, insecurities, less than perfect childhoods and they don’t grow up to kill people, steal from people, destroy countries. Instead they make a life for themselves and become a productive person in society.
I wonder if we have become too lax as a people and have allowed these behaviors by accepting their excuses. To me that is a question worth pondering.
Sounds like you just watched the news! There’s an answer: Jesus!
Yep…that was the news. And thank goodness He is the answer.
