Where do your fall?

great 1Values–Wow!What a word. What does it mean to us? People have to decide that for themselves.

There is the value we place on life, value we place on a house, car, relationship, education. There are so many things that we place a value on.

Have you ever stopped to look at your value system? I try to periodically because I don’t want the values I have to slide downward and too, I think periodically we need to make sure those things we value haven’t changed.

The values we place come from many different sources but one key source is the family. Family is supposed to teach us right from wrong before we get out into our world and have bad influences. Everything the family introduces to the child or fails to introduce to the child plays a major role in their value system.

When we get old enough and start school, then those schools are to help shape our values. But sometimes, that doesn’t work the way it should.

Children mimic their parents on food, talking, attitudes, fears, prejudice and habits. Adults do the same thing.

When I worked with Corporations, I could always tell what kind of man ran the company based on how his employees acted and treated their customers. “Bad rolls down a hill it doesn’t roll up a hill”.

We need a value system. Values affect our behavior. Either they help us to become successful as a person or they contribute to our being a failure. This is why people do what they do based on where it falls in their value system.

So maybe we should take inventory and see where our system falls. Where does yours fall?
