This morning driving out of my subdivision, a deer ran across the road in front of me coming out from the side of someone’s house over onto the golf course. Obviously I stopped my car and looking after the deer I saw this deer join three others. Now I have lived here over seven years and have never, ever seen deer in my subdivision.
As I watched the deer mill around I wondered how many of us wander away from our surroundings into unfamiliar territory. Do we have the courage to get out of our box and step out into that unknown?
Driving away I yelled to the deer, “You need golf clubs on the course”. The big one raised his head, looked at me then turned and continued looking around. Raising my window I thought what do we need to move out into unknown territory. The answer was courage. If we have it we can be out milling around too conquering new horizons like the deer.
