The Day Before Thanksgiving

This is the day before Thanksgiving, you might be wondering why it is important. For us, it is a day where we begin to prepare some of the food for Thanksgiving Day.  There is a lot of prep work that goes into the dishes we have. This is the day we can make all the desserts such as pumpkin pies, for sure we will need two. Then Uncle Bob will want pecan pie along with Aunt Sue. Grandmother will want coconut cake and little Larry and  Eva will want chocolate pie. Bobby will want his coconut cream pie and since it is Sis’s birthday I will have to make her a small birthday cake. Now you see why we start the day before.

Also, today is when some of our families start arriving for their Thanksgiving visit. The house will be full from one corner to the other, but it is a special time of the year for families to be together so we won’t mind being a little cramped.

While we are all making preparation today, lets remember the families whose loved ones are gone and for those who are less fortunate and hungry. Pray for blessings on all of them during this time of year. Remember our servicemen and women and their families and bless our nation.
