LIFE–SEESAW AND CAROUSEL

LIFE

LONG AGO IS NOT FAR AWAY

AND SOON IS NOT AS CLOSE AS YOU THINK

SO HOW TO ANSWER THE QUESTION

CONCERNING THE LENGTH OF TODAY

IS IT SHORT OR IS IT LONG–CAN WE SAY?

FEELINGS OF SADNESS COME IN WAVES

WHILE HAPPINESS WITH TINY DROPLETS OF RAIN.

FLUCUATIONS BETWEEN THE LIGHT AND THE DARK

CAUSE OUR PERSPECTIVES TO GO UP AND THEN COME DOWN

AND SOMETIMES IT GOES ALL AROUND.

LIFE IS OUR PERSONAL SEESAW

AND CAROUSEL ROLLED INTO ONE

ONCE IN AWHILE YOU HAVE TO GET OFF IT BREAKS

WHEN IT DOES IT GIVES YOU SOME REST.

SOON IT IS FIXED AND YOU CLIMB BACK ON.

YOU WILL EITHER START ALL OVER AGAIN OR

YOU WILL CONTINUE ON YOUR JOURNEY.

  1. I once went to a talk for moms given by Joe White of Kanakuk Kamps. I’ll never forget what he said, “As a mother the days are long but the years are short.” I want to live every one of these long, crazy days with purpose and passion because I know all too well the years are short.

  2. Thanks Annette…how fun another life adventure.

  3. Annette Mastron says:

Love riding on a horse going with the circles of life–but like in the chalk paintings of a perfect afternoon of Mary Poppins lore, love when the carousel horses actually move from their circle and take you on another life adventure.
