Have you allowed your ‘ideas’ to escape from your thoughts? Yes, just think, all that work your brain went through to think of the idea and bring it to you and you let it escape! Wow. Don’t let your ideas escape. When one pops in your head, that’s your signal to write it down.   Please don’t tell me you don’t keep a small notepad in your pocket and/or purse. That’s like going shopping and leaving your credit cards and money at home.

Ideas are nuggets of gold. They are born and if you jot them down you can proceed to investigate the ideas and see if they are viable for you and if they are you can nurture them and watch them grow.  Who knows it could be the one. Yes the one idea that could bring all your dreams true. Don’t waste it.

When you look at each idea, don’t throw away the ones that don’t seem viable right now, who knows, sometime in the near future, it could be the perfect idea. Put them in a box where you can visit them regularly. Now obviously you are going to have some pop in your head that truly are not viable, and for those, toss them. I like to keep mine on cards that I put in containers with alphabet separators.

Now you start investigating one at a time. You will notice you lean toward one particular one, investigate it more deeply. Where does it take you? If it seems to have promise then let that idea grow. Start researching this as a project. You will notice by now you are involved in an idea that has grown to a project. Now you are ready to see if it will work for you.  Try it out. Tweak it. Massage it. If you see flaws in the project that  can’t be fixed, then toss it and try another one.  If you continue testing your ideas, you will eventually hit upon the ones that will open doors into your niche.
