TAKE THE BRICKS OFF

Norman Vincent Peale said, “Change your thoughts and you can change anything.” The first time I read this, I decided to try an experiment. I chose a work day to pay attention to everyone I met and to listen closely to every word they uttered. What people think plays out in their lives. It’s also what comes out of their mouth.

That particular day I heard, “I hate being here today wish I was home,” from one co-worker. Then another one said, “I have a stupid child you won’t believe what they did this morning.”

“I wish this day would end, everything is going wrong.” When I tallied up the remarks for the day I had heard more negative ones than positive.

The mind has to be fed good thoughts, positive thoughts. You wouldn’t put dirt in your mouth to eat, and expect your body to function correctly, why would you fill your thoughts with negative thoughts? Every time you think a negative thought you are putting a brick on your back, keep it up and it won’t be long until you will not be able to move.

Start fresh today, start feeding your mind with positive, uplifting thoughts. Every time you hear yourself say a negative thought, stop immediately, choose the exact opposite of that thought in a positive sentence and put that in your mind. Say that sentence over seven times.
You will find brick by brick falling off your back where you will once again fill peaceful, happy, empowered to live an extraordinary life.

That is great. And so so true. Interesting to note that I do not see many people during the day, well during the week either for that matter, because I run a small sustainably managed farm and so I am home alone with endless happy animals, buzzing bees and pretty plants all day. LaLa-ing about out in the fields or gardens. And I have very few negative thoughts. Maybe negative thoughts and comments are contagious and no-one has brought them here. c

    • How fun to be around happy animals all day. A world of serenity and nature, could not get much better than that. You are right, negative thoughts are contagious so glad no-one brings them to your farm. Thanks.

    Peace from negativity!

  3. Thanks Shannon. My greatest wish for the world would be to free themselves from negative thinking so they could soal with the eagles and feel the embrace of freedom throughout their lives.

  4. Susan, may we all be freed of the weight of negativity. What we think becomes who we are. It is so freeing to move once we lose the weight of negativity! Great post!!
