Going

Going

by

Susan Reichert

Calling to tell you, I’m through
not going to cry over you.
If only you’d been faithful
and carried out your vows.

I’ve thought about this a lot
know it’s the right thing to do.
Can’t stand the thought of you,
being here makes me blue.

Tomorrow is a new day
looking forward to someone new.
If I pass you along the way
I won’t turn and look at you.

Don’t bother to call
won’t be here at all.
Now I’ll be busy
which will make it easy.

So long and goodbye
I’m not going to cry.
Glad I came to my senses
letting go of the pretenses.
